If you find yourself locked out of your Facebook Business Page or Business Manager, your ability to share and schedule content or ads on your Facebook and Instagram accounts grinds to a halt. Losing access to your business's social media presence can have a detrimental impact on your online reputation and, consequently, your sales.
But fear not! By following the steps outlined below, you'll be back in the driver's seat, with your page, ads, and more ready to roll in no time.
When it comes to losing access to your business page and business manager on Facebook, you're not alone. Various scenarios can lead to this predicament:
Here's the good news: Yes, you absolutely can regain access. Having successfully navigated the process of recovering access to countless pages, we've honed a streamlined approach to help you regain access as swiftly as possible.
In most scenarios, your path to regaining access involves reaching out to Facebook's support team. In this case, it's crucial to be well-prepared with the necessary information. To make things easier for you, we've provided an exact template below.
However, in select cases, you may regain access without needing to contact Facebook support. Let's kick things off with this option.
Depending on whether your page is on the "Classic Page" version or the New Page Experience, there are distinct methods to identify the current owner of your page.
If a business is listed as the "Page Owner" or the "Owning Business Account," do you recognize the business? If so, attempt to contact them.
If you recognize any of the names of the individuals listed as admins or owners, consider reaching out to them as well. They may have the authority to grant you access via their page settings or Business Managers. It's a worthwhile step before diving into the complexities of seeking assistance from Facebook Support!
If you find yourself in a situation where you can't identify the business currently in control of your Facebook Page, there's a helpful recourse: the "Give Feedback to Facebook" option. If your Page is owned by a Business Account that's not actively managed, Facebook may display a "Feedback" button alongside it.
Do you spot the "Give Feedback On This Business" button, as illustrated below?
If you do, click the button, and a popup like the one below will appear:
Select the option that best suits your situation. For instance, if you're unfamiliar with the individual or company owning your page, opt for "Unauthorised access." Alternatively, you can choose "Something else." Clicking "Next" won't trigger an immediate response, but you can expect Facebook Support to reach out for additional information—usually within 24 hours.
While you're on your Page Settings or Page Role page (as explained in Step 1), if you come across the message indicating a pending partner request shown below, you can directly initiate an Admin Dispute Request.
This essentially serves as a convenient shortcut to swiftly address the pertinent Facebook support issue in the upcoming step.
Follow the steps outlined in #ii below to understand precisely what information you should provide to resolve your Business Admin Dispute and regain access!
If one of your page admins has fallen victim to hacking, you can promptly report the incident to Facebook using this link.
